Our Precious Time- march 2025

The first Monday of March snuck up on me a bit- those 28 days move so freaking fast! Sheesh. I hope February was a beautiful month for each of you. My friends in Wilm, it looks like spring is near and y'all are out of the worst of the cold weather! Love that for you!
I'm writing this email from bed at our hotel in Koh Samui, Thailand hehe. We didn't see rain for the entire first month here, and now we've gotten SO much! I'm not entirely mad though. I've been able to bust out super fun stuff like taxes, budgeting and travel planning (which, believe it or not, is my least favorite part of traveling!) Long-term travel is reminding me so much of coexistence. I wrote about this a few emails back (you can also read it again, here), but on the daily, and quite literally, I'm being reminded that you cannot celebrate the gift of the sunshine without the "disappointment" of the clouds and rain. The same way we want a sense of calm and to slow down when we have chaos and busyness, but the moment it does start to slow, we can feel "lazy" or unproductive. Wait, or is that just me?... Truly though, it is actually so comforting to remember that we are all, in some way, navigating the dualities that exist within our own reality, together. Seasons of life are just that though, passing seasons, and, whether we like it or not, temporary.
When I was deciding what quote to put at the top of this month's newsletter, I almost decided on one that said how we all have the same 24 hours in a day, blah blah blah. That's a little too black and white for me. While it is true, we do all have the same amount of time, it's not always that simple. I can also hear my amazing mother, Maria, in my ear, reminding me that the hours are not all the same. (She loves sending me those videos of people low key making fun of the childless, super caffeinated, still in their 20s, influencers) Each of us has different responsibilities, obligations and demands- many of which go completely unnoticed. However, I'm truly a woman of balance, and it is still so important to consider that we are given some choices with our time, and that's really powerful. 30 minutes scrolling on my phone, or doing a 30 minute YouTube workout. A 15 minute phone call to a friend I've been meaning to catch up with or 15 minutes of watching reels with people I don't know or care about. Also, picking up every single shift possible, working all of the OT, getting home late every night, and missing out on visiting my family, celebrating the birthdays or just enjoying a dang hobby! Y'all already know one of my favorite sayings (lol and am really embracing in this jobless season ): there will always be more money, but there will never be more time. Money can change, time keeps going. Our time is so unbelievably precious.
I think dreaming big is so important. Thinking outside the box of norms or even realistic, is good for us. What would we do if we had more time in a day? Where would we want to go and what hobbies would we learn? How different would our days feel? What would we discover we're actually good at, and had no idea? You don't need to answer those questions now, that's what the "journal" section is for hehe. But really, all of these thoughts were provoked by my own experience with feeling like I have a little more time to pursue different things in this season of life. Silly stuff like getting pretty freaking good at using chopsticks finally, or learning how to do that bridge thing when shuffling cards. Also, I guess less silly things like getting way better at speaking Spanish by practicing it daily and challenging myself to read books instead of mindlessly retracting to the comfort of my phone. It's wild what we can do, or discover we want to do, when we simply have the time to pursue it!
All of that being said, we can't create more time, but we can become a little more conscientious of how we're spending it and if we could be more mindful with it. There is no better time than the moment you have right now to
pursue that meaningful conversation
finish and receive that certification
join the small group you've been wanting to be a part of
branch out and attend the fitness class you've been meaning to try
ask for help because you're struggling
completely pivot because you're feeling a pull you can't describe
choose joy!
I hope March brings you more and more into alignment with the very best version of you! Keep finding and resting in those moments that make you feel like all is well in your world. Sending you a hug!
